Brandy Martin

Brandy Martin

Owner

I came from the “Big Box” work environment of corporate America. I was overweight, overworked, unhealthy and very unhappy. After recognizing I wanted my life to have more quality health, I made the transition into the world of fitness; first becoming certified in yoga and receiving my 200 HR YTT with Yoga Alliance. I quickly followed that up with getting my Certified Personal Training certification from NASM.

After a few more certifications including TRX and Indoor Cycling, I wanted to ‘marry’ my skillset in business with my new passion, wellness. In 2014, my husband and I started FYSF and opened our first brick and mortar in 2015.

“Ageing is inevitable, but the quality of how you age is totally within your control.”  I strongly believe that it is never too late to get in shape and change your life, I know, I have done it.  When I turned 50, I reached a personal goal; I was in the best physical shape of my life!

I had spent 23 years in the oil and gas industry, in highly stressful and contentious positions.  Most of this time was spent sitting behind a desk, developing bad habits.

Fast forward to Fall of 2013 when I had a life changing illness with a 12 month recovery period.  As a result of my long recovery period, I lost my desk job, which became a blessing in disguise! During the next 12 months, I focused on everything fitness. As part of my rehab, I started my yoga practice back up. Yoga helped me recover where I could begin training and i fell in love with it.

I became strong and was hooked on the variety and consistency of fitness and exercise. I lost weight, gained muscle strength and I met a lot of really cool people. I wanted more!  I had always enjoyed indoor cycling for a good cardio and endurance workout. In the fall of 2014, I attended the Schwinn Cycling Certification class.  I began instructing group cycling classes and loved it.

I wanted to further expand on my health and fitness coaching.  I became TRX certified and added Suspension Training classes to my repertoire. I desired more education so I also completed the Functional Aging Specialist through the Functional Aging Institute (FAI).  I look forward to training you in a session soon whether it is a group class or 1:1 personal training.

Megan Murphy

coach Megan

 Registered Dietitian

Megan is a Registered Dietitian relocated from Florida. After spending two years working in public health she wanted to make a shift towards the health and wellness industry. Her drive to pursue becoming a dietitian started from her own struggles with dieting and trying to correctly fuel her workouts. She had sampled several internet and magazine diets, supplements, and fitness guides with little or no success. She would even find conflicting information in published top selling books…

…so she decided it was time to find some real answers. Starting the path to become a dietitian was initially for her own general knowledge and curiosity. This quickly changed after learning about the extent of the mutual struggles the population had with food choices, food anxiety and just general confusion around nutrition. She decided she wanted to move into an industry that could allow her to help others become more educated and successful with their goals.

Megan strongly believes that diet trends are mostly unsustainable and everyone needs personally tailored regimens, therefore she discourages the one-diet-fits-all approach. She believes the best way for long term success is to implement small sustainable changes over time to create your best possible lifestyle. Megan also has a background with group fitness through memberships and coaching classes. She is currently working towards obtaining her NASM personal trainer certification. Since moving to Colorado she has also accepted a full time position as a health and wellness manager at the YMCA. Ultimately it’s Megan’s passion to help others reach their nutrition and fitness goals.

Jennifer relocated to Colorado from Michigan almost 8 years ago. Since that time she has devoted herself both professionally and personally to pursuing her passion, which is all things fitness and outdoors. In her spare time, you will find her skiing, cycling or hiking.

Jennifer spent much of her career as a high school teacher and taught over 6000 students! Her favorite classes were English literature, Physical Education/Health and Nutrition. There, she also did some personal training, particularly with women new to exercise or following childbirth. Jennifer has raised 3 amazing kids, yet has always made her own fitness a priority no matter what.

“After my third child, I had a lot less time, was older and wasn’t feeling as fit. It was then that I learned the value of interval training and variety in my exercise.”

As soon as she landed in Colorado she became a certified cycling instructor and began teaching. She also joined a cycling group and learned so much from her fellow riders.

Jennifer continues to teach cycling and group strength classes. She also loves Pilates and is currently pursuing intense training in that area to expand her knowledge of how the body moves. Previously she also completed TRX certification and learned Functional Movement techniques. Jennifer has always loved working out for the release and ironically, the relaxation that a good sweat provides. “Over the last 25 years, I have walked into the gym countless times after a long, stressful day with a headache. Never once have I regretted the workout I pushed myself to do. Even a little movement is better than nothing; progress always starts small.”

Jennifer is excited to teach classes at Feed Your Soul Fitness and looks forward to getting to know the people that make up this supportive, committed, fun group! She recognizes that people are at various places in their wellness in relation to everything else that life may bring their way. She hopes to provide a workout that’s encouraging, safe and challenging for people of all levels.

coach Meredith

Small Group Trainer and Personal Trainer

Hi! I’m Meredith. I am from Little Rock, Arkansas. I have always kept active by swimming, running and hiking. It wasn’t until my 30s that I fell in love with weight training. My coach would always ask me to help the new members with their form, so that’s when I decided to get my personal training certification through ACE. I had been a stay-at-home mom for so many years, and my kids were getting older, so it was the perfect way to transition into the working world again with something that I loved to do. Eventually, I became interested in Olympic lifting and received my USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach certification.
